Katie
Katie Mackenzie
Katie is in her fourth and final year at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow, where she is studying Gaelic song and Clarsach.  She studies under Kenna Campbell, Mairi Macinnes and Wendy Stewart, Patsy Seddon.

In spite of her youth Katie is already well established on the traditional music scene as one of the rising stars of the future.  She has toured in Sweden, France, Ireland, Wales, New York, the Netherlands as well as playing all over Scotland.

She has already featured on five cds (3 with Feis Rois) and more recently on Fiona Mackenzie’s albums; Orain nan Rosach and Duan Nollaig (2007).

Katie has worked with many top musicians including Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw of Capercaillie. She is a regular performer on TV and Radio on programmes such as; Air an Urlar, Ceol aig a Chaisteil, Celtic Connections and in April 2006 appeared on Good Morning America for Fox TV.

Within Scotland she has appeared regularly at Edinburgh and Stirling Castles and has played for Princess Ann, as well as visiting Balmoral to play for Prince Charles and Camilla and the Queen in London.
Katie has won prizes at several prestigious festivals including the Pan Celtic Festival and the International Eisteddfod.

In November 2006 she toured Denmark and Germany with fellow students from RSAMD.

Katie has tutored both fiddle, clarsach and Gaelic song and is available to play at weddings, ceilidhs, parties and corporate functions.  To contact Katie please complete the form on the left hand side of this page.
